Walt Disney World offers 8 Deluxe level uniquely themed resorts and each one has a lot to offer. As a Disney Travel agent we are often asked which is the best hotel and the answer is as unique as the guests who are traveling. Each family must decide what is important to them and their trip and together we help them decide which is the best resort for the trip. The Deluxe level resorts offer beautiful grounds to explore, delicious dining options, special amenities and unique theming.
There are three resorts that are on the monorail line, the Contemporary Resort, the Polynesian Village Resort, and the Grand Floridian Resort. If you are a family with small children these resorts are a fantastic option because you can roll your stroller right onto the monorail. Being close to the Magic Kingdom and Epcot with easy transportation also means it is easy to pop back in the afternoon for a nap or swim in the pool. The pools at all of the Deluxe Resorts are amazing.
Some families are looking for an even more upgraded experience and I would recommend the Club Level Rooms. Each of the Deluxe Resorts offers a Club Level, many amenities including a special check-in procedure away from the lines in the lobby, meals, snacks, and drinks available as well as a quiet place to relax. My family and I had the opportunity to stay in a Polynesian Club Level room and it was such a treat to have our own quiet, not-crowded spot to come back and have a glass of wine and some appetizers, grab a soda or bottle of water and just sit and relax.
There are also other luxury resort options nearby, the Four Seasons, Ritz Carlton and Waldorf Astoria all also provide transportation to the parks and have a kids club where the kids get some supervised playtime and the adults can golf, visit the spa, or just relax by the pool.
